Carlisle SynTec Systems names council member
Carlisle SynTec Systems, Carlisle, Pa., has selected NRCA member Wm. Kramer & Son Inc., Cleves, Ohio, to be a member of its 2015 Perfection Council.
Consisting of 35 contractors, the Perfection Council acts as an advisory board to help Carlisle SynTec Systems determine how best to support its contractor network. Contractors are selected based on their histories of high-quality installations and excellent warranty claim performance.
To qualify for the council, a contractor must have—for each of the past seven years—completed a minimum of 125,000 warranted square feet of Carlisle work on a minimum of five projects per year.
Johns Manville publishes report
Johns Manville, Denver, has published its 2014 Sustainability Report, which highlights significant accomplishments and initiatives tied to the economic, environmental and social effects of sustainability.
The report incorporates a new feature—the JM Product Landscape—that highlights the sustainable characteristics of various Johns Manville products. Users can click on various locations within the landscape for specific product application and sustainability information.

GAF to open PVC line
GAF, Parsippany, N.J., has announced plans to open a new PVC manufacturing line at its commercial roofing plant in Cedar City, Utah; GAF expects the line to become operational as early as mid-2016. The line will allow the Cedar City plant to become a full-service manufacturer and supplier of PVC and TPO single-ply membranes, as well as polyisocyanurate insulation.
EXCEPTIONAL® Metals announces partnership
EXCEPTIONAL Metals Inc., a division of Duro-Last, Saginaw, Mich., has announced it has partnered with MBCI,® Houston.
Together, EXCEPTIONAL Metals and MBCI have more than 50 years' combined experience.
The standing-seam roof systems offered in the program include vertical leg structural standing-seam metal roof systems; trapezoidal standing-seam metal roof systems; soffits; concealed fastening systems; and exposed fastening systems.
MBCI's 15 manufacturing facilities throughout the U.S. allow the EXCEPTIONAL Metals by MBCI standing-seam collection to be accessible nationwide.
Mazzella Cos. acquires New Tech Machinery
Mazzella Cos., Cleveland, has acquired New Tech Machinery Corp., Denver.
The acquisition will enhance Mazzella Cos.' international manufacturing capabilities and further solidify its position as a leader in the architectural metal roof and wall industries.
New Tech Machinery has a manufacturing facility in Hermosillo, Mexico, and employs about 80 people at the facility and the company's Denver headquarters.
McElroy Metal opens Houston plant
McElroy Metal, Bossier City, La., has moved its operations in Houston into a new 30,000-square-foot manufacturing plant with an attached 9,000-square-foot service center to better serve its customer base in southeast Texas.
The new service center features most McElroy Metal profiles and is set up to service walk-in customers. Because the service center is attached to the plant, large orders can be produced and delivered quickly. The Houston facility also offers on-site roll-forming.

SRS Distribution announces pending acquisition
SRS Distribution, McKinney, Texas, has announced it is in the final stages of acquiring Advanced Building Products, Harahan, La., a leading regional independent distributor of roofing, siding, windows, gutters and related residential and commercial building products, supplies and services.
Advanced Building Products maintains additional locations in Baton Rouge, La.; Lafayette, La.; Lake Charles, La.; Huntsville, Ala.; and Oklahoma City. The company currently employs more than 100 people.
SRS Distribution will continue to operate Advanced Building Products' locations in Louisiana under the Advanced Building Products name as a new stand-alone region. Advanced Building Products' locations in Huntsville and Oklahoma City likely eventually will migrate to SRS Distribution's existing brands in those markets.
The transaction was scheduled to close May 29.
In addition, SRS Distribution has opened a new location in Castroville, Calif., under the Roofline Supply & Delivery name. The location will service Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties as a satellite to the existing Roofline Supply & Delivery location in San Jose, Calif.
The company also has opened a new location in Hawaii under the Roofline Supply & Delivery name that will service Honolulu.
Both locations will carry a full line of residential and commercial roofing products.
ABC Supply receives award
ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, Wis., has received the Gallup Great Workplace Award, which recognizes the best-performing workplaces worldwide. The company is one of only 40 companies in the world to receive the 2015 award and also is one of only three nine-time winners, having received the award every year since its inception.
The award recognizes organizations with associates who are involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to their work and workplace.
Companies considered for the honor were evaluated by a panel of workplace experts who compared each company's results to those of other companies throughout the world. Various criteria were evaluated, including response rates, overall engagement levels and evidence of engagement's effect on performance.

RCI Inc. recognized the winners of its 2015 Document Competition March 8 at its annual awards luncheon during the 30th RCI International Convention and Trade Show in San Antonio.

NRCA's Future Executives Institute (FEI) and Executive Management Institute (EMI) have announced their graduates for 2015.
FEI is an educational program held during the course of three years designed to develop the management and leadership skills of future and current roofing company leaders.
