Insulation system is lightweight
Covertech Fabricating Inc. has introduced its Retrofit MBI® System designed to insulate new and existing metal buildings. The clip and pin purlin system is used with rFOIL® Reflective Insulation to efficiently control heat gain and loss in metal buildings. MBI Retrofit clips and pins are installed on the bottoms of exposed roof purlins and inside wall girts to hold the insulation in place. The system reportedly blocks 96% of radiant heat transfer, reduces interior condensation and is Class A fire-rated. The Retrofit MBI System also is lightweight, tear-resistant and installs quickly with minimal disruption to building occupants.

Concrete tile colors are neutral
Boral Roofing LLC has made available a new suite of concrete roof tile colors for residential projects in southern Nevada. Appalachian Blend, Charcoal Blend, Graphite, Saddleback Blend, Sepia and Shadow Black are contemporary, neutral tones designed to complement the region’s architectural styles. The new colors reportedly are available for three Boral Roofing tile profiles: Barcelona, Saxony® 900 Shake and Saxony 900 Slate. Boral Roofing’s concrete roof tiles are Class A fire-rated and said to be a durable solution to protect homes from inclement weather conditions.

Bimetal screws resist back-out
Triangle Fastener Corp. has made available its Concealor® 304 Stainless Steel Bimetal Screws. Available in four sizes, the screws are made from corrosion-resistant carbon steel and stainless steel and are TRI-SEAL® top-coated to improve tapping and reduce thread roll-over. The screws have No. 2 square recess for optimal stability during installation, and their buttress threads are said to increase pullout loads and resist back-out. Concealor 304 Stainless Steel Bimetal screws reportedly can fasten to metal, wood or concrete.

Radio has four speakers
DEWALT® has introduced its ToughSystem® 2.0 Radio and Charger designed to deliver optimal sound indoors or outdoors. The radio features four integrated full-range speakers, an active subwoofer and a passive bass resonator that are driven by a 55-watt RMS amplifier. Integrated Bluetooth® connectivity reportedly enables a user to remotely control the radio or music played from a mobile device via an app. Compatible with ToughSystem and ToughSystem 2.0 modular storage solutions, the ToughSystem 2.0 Radio and Charger has stacking and locking side latches. The dust- and water-resistant radio also has a USB port for mobile device charging, and a large top compartment reportedly can store and protect a battery, phone or AC power cable.

Guide contains retrofit metal best practices
The Metal Construction Association has published a new retrofit design guide, “Retrofit Metal Roofing,” containing expertise from five MCA member companies that manufacture retrofit metal roof system products. The 140-page document is said to provide the latest code-compliant and market-ready materials, methods and best practices to reroof buildings using metal roof systems and light-gauge steel framing systems. Chapters include information regarding market history, fundamentals, applications, assembly details and energy savings. Detailed illustrations reportedly show where fully integrated photovoltaic equipment is being incorporated into new metal roof systems.

Secure a tape measure at heights
Ergodyne has made available its Squids® Tape Measure Holder/Belt Clip designed to secure a user’s tape measure when working at heights.
