Circular saw is lightweight

DEWALT has made available its 18-volt cordless circular saw—DW934K-2—that weighs 9 1/4 pounds. The saw's 6 3/4-inch 40-tooth titanium carbide-tipped blade cuts steel, aluminum, brass, copper and other materials at 3,500 rotations per minute. The saw features a SIGHT-LINE™ window and ULTRA SIGHT-LINE™ scope to help users view the blade and follow a cutting line.

Infrared camera features software

Monroe Infrared Technology Inc. has released its Heat Find-IR Infrared camera that features the company's IR/daq image-processing software.

The software allows images to be saved in various formats and downloaded for use with other standard software programs and the Internet. The software also colors thermal images and creates final inspection reports. The camera features a built-in microphone to record comments, as well as several lenses for different applications.

Polyurethane foam is environmental

Gaco Western Inc. has made available GacoGreen, a low-density, nonozone-depleting polyurethane foam. The product, which reportedly has a high R-value, is made from Honeywell's Enovate 3000 blowing agent—a replacement for hydrochlorofluorocarbon. The foam reportedly can be sprayed in multiple lifts, requires little agitation and prevents blowholes in finished structures. The 4-inch-thick foam is Class I-rated by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

Gravity spreads foam adhesive

Rooftop Equipment Inc. has released its Insul-Liner, a gravity-fed foam insulation adhesive spreader. Adhesive is poured into the product's 12-gallon tank and dispensed through four holes onto steel and concrete roof decks. The product's wheels can be adjusted to straddle a steel roof deck's flutes. Unused adhesive can be drained from the tank for later use.

Sealant protects porous materials

OKON Inc. has released OKON W-2, a blend of acrylic micro-emulsions and a silane-siloxane solution that fills pores, capillaries and cracks in concrete and masonry substrates. The product, which reportedly repels water and minimizes erosion, can be used with painted surfaces, is nonflammable and has low volatile organic compounds.

Products ease gutter problems

Spin Enterprises LLC has made available its SnapLOCK and TIPLOK attachments for gutter system ground extensions. SnapLOCK, which secures a hinge to a downspout elbow, is aluminum and features a nylon washer. The product is said to eliminate boring out holes when a hinge is secured by screws. TIPLOK is plastic and holds up a gutter extension while a homeowner mows or does landscaping work.

Electric screwdriver features high torque

Metabo Corp. has made available USE 8, its electric screwdriver that is designed for high-torque applications. The 4 1/2-pound screwdriver features 10 torque settings ranging from 27 inches per pound to 159 inches per pound, as well as a 354-inches-per-pound torque setting.

The product can drive up to 1/4-inch-diameter self-drilling screws, 5/16-inch-diameter self-tapping screws, and 1/8- to 5/16-inch-diameter drywall and wood screws. The screwdriver also can reverse rotation without losing power.

Copper shingles feature layers

Tegola® Canadese has released its copper shingle product line—Tegola Prestige—in the United States. The shingles are available in three styles, Prestige Elite, Prestige Compact and Prestige Traditional. Each style features layers of fiberglass enclosed in modified bitumen and covered with copper foil for stability and weatherproofing. The product line also includes hip and ridge details, top roll adhesive, snow guards and other accessories.

Material increases light reflection

Solatube International Inc. has made available its reflective tubing material, Spectralight® Infinity, to increase the light provided by the company's tubular skylights. The material is designed to only bounce light once, which reportedly reduces light loss and color loss. The material is standard with the company's extension tubes, including 10-, 14- and 21-inch skylights.

Product dispenses foam adhesive

Elastomeric Roofing Systems Inc. has made available its PaceCart, a product that features a self-contained gear pump and 30-foot hose to dispense OlyBond500 adhesive. The adhesive is mixed at low pressure and dispensed as a liquid through a disposable hose tip.
