Eyewear increases comfort
Gateway Safety Inc. has introduced its Luminary™ safety eyewear, which features soft, flexible temples and is said to relieve pressure behind ears and increase worker comfort.
Luminary safety eyewear's temples also feature translucent insets that reportedly match the eyewear's lens color. The lenses feature an anti-scratch coating and are available in various colors.
In addition, the company's Wheelz™ safety eyewear is now available with an optional foam edge that reportedly absorbs perspiration and preserves a clear view while serving as a cushion for added comfort.
Wheelz safety eyewear features Gateway Safety's Whirlwind™ ventilation system, which reportedly minimizes fogging by circulating air through the optical chamber. The eyewear's frames are said to be made from a soft, flexible material, making them compact and lightweight.

Owens Corning has introduced Fiberglas™ Reinforced Felt Underlayment and VentSure® 4-Foot Strip Ridge Vents to its Owens Corning Roofing Essentials™ product line.
Fiberglas Reinforced Felt Underlayment is said to provide an extra protection layer beneath shingles and help prevent wind-driven rain from reaching roof decks. The underlayment reportedly resists wrinkling and tearing and lies flat when installed.
VentSure 4-Foot Strip Ridge Vents reportedly increase a roof's durability by allowing proper roof ventilation. Each ridge vent is said to have a net free ventilation area of 20 square inches per lineal foot and features a flat baffle design that reportedly stops leaves, pine needles and similar debris from affecting the vent's performance.

CertainTeed Corp. has added colors to its line of Landmark Solaris™ solar reflective roof shingles. The shingles are available in the company's West Coast region in weathered wood, burnt sienna, resawn shake and heather blend and are available nationwide in crystal gray, sunset shake, aged cedar and dusky clay.
Landmark Solaris solar reflective roof shingles feature reflective granule technology that reportedly repels the sun's rays and lowers a roof's surface temperature up to 20 percent during warm months.

Roof system is pre-engineered
Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc. has introduced its KingZip® Insulated Standing Seam Roof System, a pre-engineered, zip-up roof system that is said to provide enhanced performance, design flexibility, aesthetic appeal and fast-track construction.
KingZip Insulated Standing Seam Roof System features a thermally broken, hidden clip design and comes as a single component with insulation foamed in place, which reportedly allows it to be installed in one step. The system's panels are 42 inches wide and available in lengths up to 48 feet.

Shears cut efficiently
Malco Products Inc. has introduced TSS1A TurboShear, a high-speed air-powered shingle shear, and TSS1 TurboShear, an asphalt shingle shear accessory for electric drills.
TSS1A TurboShear is said to provide increased cutting speed and feature lateral blade adjustment capability that makes it easy to maneuver. The shingle shear also features a wide jaw opening and beveled lead-in tip on its upper blade that is said to accommodate many shingle layers.
TSS1 TurboShear reportedly requires no drill modifications and can be installed and removed easily. The shingle shear is said to make fast, clean, straight cuts and precise corner and circle cuts in asphalt shingles.
Both models use heat-treated carbon steel blades with solid carbide inserts; the blades are said to have long service lives and be easily replaceable.

Tekla Corp. has integrated its Tekla Structures Building Information Modeling solution with BuildSite LLC's database of construction-related product, technical and procurement information. The integration allows users to incorporate product documents and submittal links from BuildSite with 3-D building elements.
Through the integrated Web site, designers and contractors can incorporate concrete chemicals, roof and waterproofing membranes, insulation, drywall, fire-stopping, fasteners, adhesives and sealants into a 3-D design object for a floor, wall or roof system.
