Solar panels are lightweight
Sunflare Inc. has introduced its Sunflare CIGS solar panels. Featuring Sunflare's Capture4 technology, the thin-film
solar panels reportedly are flexible and lightweight for easy installation. Sunflare CIGS solar panels are said to
capture 10 percent more energy per day than crystalline silicon solar panels. The solar panels can be used for all
rooftops, particularly large commercial buildings, and do not require an aluminum frame or building penetration

Roof hatch minimizes heat transfer
The Bilco Co. has made available its Thermally Broken Roof Hatch. Featuring R-20+ insulation in the cover and curb
and a frame and cover design said to minimize heat transfer between interior and exterior metal surfaces, the roof
hatch reportedly resists condensation and boosts energy efficiency. The aluminum roof hatch also features compression
spring operators that enable one-hand operation; automatic hold-open arm locks; and a slam latch with interior and
exterior padlock hasps. The Thermally Broken Roof Hatch is available in all standard BILCO single leaf sizes and

Underlayment Specialties Plus has introduced RoofTopGuard SA Ice & Water Protector, a synthetic-based, self-adhering
high-temperature underlayment that incorporates the structure of RoofTopGuard II, Underlayment Specialties Plus'
synthetic underlayment. The lightweight underlayment has an extra-wide roll width for maximum coverage compared with
standard bitumen-based membranes. RoofTopGuard SA also features a fiber grip topside for safe walkability and can be

CoreLogic® has launched Roof IQ,™ a service that identifies storm-damaged houses so roofing professionals
can connect with prospective customers. Roof IQ uses CoreLogic's geocoding technology and comprehensive
property-level database to target individual houses within a storm's path that have suffered significant damage from
wind or hail. Roof IQ reportedly provides interactive maps that identify the scope of damage within 24 hours of a
weather event, and users receive real-time email alerts containing potential leads. Roof IQ is said to enable repair
cost estimates by incorporating aerial roof measurements produced by CoreLogic's SkyMeasure™ service. Users can
choose to monitor the entire U.S. or receive storm alerts by region, city or state, and purchase prospective customer
leads based on targeted geographic areas.
