Workwear is durable

Wrangler® has introduced its Wrangler RIGGS WORKWEAR® Construction Pant, which reportedly is durable and comfortable.

To produce the pants, Wrangler partnered with CORDURA,® a brand known for its durability in tough environments, such as military environments. The fabric was engineered to blend with cotton to provide strength and comfort.

Products offer water protection

Firestone Building Products Co. LLC has introduced its Fluid Applied Metal Roofing Systems, a family of products that reportedly help extend the life of commercial and industrial metal roof systems.

The ENERGY STAR®-approved products reportedly can reduce a roof surface's temperature as much as 100 degrees Fahrenheit and minimize the peak cooling demands of a building as much as 15 percent. They were developed using elastomeric roof coating technology formulated with 100 percent acrylic polymer and are said to offer superior adhesion, water protection and durability.

Products include metal top coats, metal primers, metal patching, skylight restoration, and seam tape and fabrics. The systems are applied in three steps: prep, seal and coat.

Screwdriver offers precision

DEWALT® has introduced its 8V MAX* Gyroscopic Screwdriver, which is operated by gyroscopic sensors inside the tool that sense the user's wrist motions. It reportedly offers precise speed control for applications such as electrical, woodworking, HVAC, maintenance and repair, and hardware installation.

The screwdriver also features variable speed control; an adjustable two-position handle; a light-emitting diode ring light for illumination in confined areas; and a one-handed loading 1/4-inch hex chuck that accepts 1-inch bit tips.

Duradek™ has added a fourth color to its Ultra Cork line of 60-mil-thick vinyl roof membranes.

The new graphite color features various shades of gray that complement exterior color schemes not well-matched by the line's warmer coffee tones.

Adhesive reduces labor

Carlisle SynTec Systems has introduced HydroBond PVC Water-Based Adhesive, which is part of its Sure-Flex™ PVC product line.

HydroBond is a one-sided, wet, lay-in dispersion adhesive that can be roller- or spray-applied and reportedly offers labor-saving application and a long-lasting, high-strength bond. It is said to be ideal for bonding PVC membranes in a wet-lay application to various porous and nonporous substrates on slopes up to 2:12, and it works as a contact adhesive on higher slopes.

Respirator offers comfort

Anchoring system is lightweight

Anchor Products has introduced the U-Anchor 2400, an anchoring system that offers a direct connection to a building's structural element.

The lightweight rooftop attachment system consists of a 5 1/2-inch Galvalume®-coated steel plate with a 3/8-inch by 3/4-inch stainless-steel stud. It reportedly offers about 1,000 pounds of ultimate load capacity, as well as high-tensile strength and shear strength.

NRLRC offers contract provisions publication

The National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC) has released Contract Provisions Volume IV, which provides an easy-to-use format you can insert directly into your contracts.

Written by lawyers and compiled by NRLRC, these contract provisions come with plain-language explanations you can understand. NRLRC's fourth volume of contract provisions includes 20 key issues, including compensation for delay; confidentiality of financial data; dispute resolution; interest and collection costs in the event of nonpayment; outstanding disputed claims and change orders; and warranty terms.

Contract Provisions Volume IV is $225 for NRCA members and $375 for nonmembers. NRLRC members receive Contract Provisions Volume IV as a membership benefit. NRCA releases annual market survey

NRCA has made available its 2012-13 annual market survey. The latest market survey provides data comparing industry market statistics, trends and information. NRCA member roofing contractors throughout the U.S. participated in the survey.

The survey results include information about commercial and residential roofing activity, roofing material usage, regional breakdowns, installation by material type and industry sales volumes.

The market survey is $40 for NRCA members and $80 for nonmembers.
