Safety harnesses have extra padding

Pure Safety Group has added the Guardian Fall Protection Series 3 harness and Guardian Fall Protection Series 5 harness to its line of Guardian safety harnesses. Designed to protect users working at heights, the full-body harnesses feature captivated chest straps said to prevent improper adjustments and accidental slippage, rubber web ends that fold over to protect the harnesses from damage and dual lanyard keepers to safely store unused lanyard legs. Each harness also has an optional heavy-duty waist pad and belt to accommodate tools. The Guardian Fall Protection Series 3 harness has an adjustable torso section and snap-on shoulder padding said to enhance a user’s comfort. The Guardian Fall Protection Series 5 harness features leg padding, durable shoulder pads, rubber impact indicators for load indication and trauma relief straps said to reduce the effects of suspension trauma during a fall. The harnesses each have a weight capacity of 130 to 420 pounds and reportedly meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.

Snow management system withstands high winds

Alpine SnowGuards® has made available Alpine LedgeGuard, a snow management system designed to prevent ice and snow from falling off a roof. The system can be installed on ledges, cornices, parapets, sloped walls, terraces and balconies. Milled countersink on the underside of Alpine LedgeGuard’s adapter plates accepts an EPDM bushing to form a watertight compression seal, and the system’s low-profile design reportedly helps it withstand high winds. Available in three configurations, Alpine LedgeGuard has a standard aluminum mill finish, or the system can be powder-coated.

Cover board resists mold

Carlisle SynTec Systems has introduced the EcoStorm VSH® Cover Board. The cover board is made from a blend of plastic and cellulose fiber sourced from post-industrial and post-consumer waste. Underlayment is vapor permeable

VaproShield® has made available SlopeShield Plus® Self-Adhered roof underlayment. The underlayment has Vapor Permeable Polymer Composite Technology™ that combines advanced polymer coatings and VaproShield adhesive to create a primerless, fully adhered underlayment. SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered roof underlayment’s black color reportedly absorbs heat while exposed to sunlight to increase the drying process of wet sheathing and insulation. Designed for use on steep-slope roofs with a minimum 2:12 slope, SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered roof underlayment is compatible with metal, slate and clay tile, and cedar shingle and shake roof systems.

Membrane is Class A fire-rated

Mule-Hide Products Co. has introduced the TPO Fleece Back FR membrane. Designed for attachment directly to a plywood or oriented strand board roof deck, the membrane reportedly is Class A fire-rated without a fire-retardant barrier board or slip sheet. The membrane’s fleece reinforcement is said to protect against punctures and splinters from the roof deck and resist damage from debris and hail. TPO Fleece Back FR membrane is heat-resistant and flexible in cold temperatures and contains no volatile organic compounds. Available in 10- by 50-foot and 10- by 100-foot sizes, the membrane is larger than typical modified bitumen sheets and reportedly reduces the required number of welded seams by 67%.

Fastener tip reduces “walking”

East Coast Fasteners & Closures Inc. has added the Ply-Lo Driller to its line of fasteners. The No. 10 fastener features a new tip designed to reduce the likelihood it will “walk” out of position when driven at a slight angle, enabling faster installation and reducing material damage and waste.
