Resin doesn’t need a primer

Kemper System America Inc. has made available KEMPEROL^® 1K-LF Flashing, a single-component, solvent-free, liquid-applied resin. Said to be ideal for waterproofing complex penetration details, flashings, skylights, drains and gutters and retrofitting small roof and balcony projects, the resin can be stirred and directly applied to a substrate without a primer. The silane-based resin reportedly is low-odor, can be applied to damp surfaces at temperatures warmer than 41 degrees and is rainfast about two hours after application.

Matte finishes resist fading

ATAS International Inc. has added six matte colors to the available finishes for its metal building products. Almond, Anchor Grey, Ash Grey, Char Brown, Matte Black and Thunder Grey are stocked in .032- and .040-inch-thick aluminum and 24-gauge steel. Said to provide a subdued aesthetic similar to natural metals, the new matte finish is achieved using a 70% PVDF coating, which reportedly provides high-performance durability for exterior and interior applications. The black, beige, brown and grey shades can soften the look of panel surfaces, and the coatings are designed to resist fading, chalking and abrasion.

Cart holds two canisters

OMG^® Roofing Products has updated its OMG BeadPro^™ Multi-Bead Cart. Capable of holding two adhesive canisters, the cart now enables a user to apply four adhesive beads at 6 or 12 inches on center. The OMG BeadPro Multi-Bead Cart features hoses, a nozzle holder, hose hook for storage and solid tires that won’t go flat. The cart reportedly does not have a pump or other mechanical equipment that requires maintenance. A lifting ring is said to enable easy hoisting to bring the cart onto a roof. In addition, disposable hose assemblies come with a secondary in-line static mixer for better yield and connect directly to the applicator assembly supplied with an OMG Roofing OlyBond500^® Canister set.

Duro-Last^® Inc. has introduced Duro-Last Solvent-Grip^™ Spray Adhesive. A non-fleece PVC spray adhesive, Duro-Last Solvent-Grip Spray Adhesive is designed to efficiently adhere Duro-Last and Duro-Tuff^® membranes to a variety of substrates on horizontal and vertical surfaces. The adhesive reportedly can be applied to structural concrete, wood, polyisocyanurate rigid insulation board and Duro-Guard^® cover boards. Duro-Last Solvent-Grip Spray Adhesive contains low volatile organic compounds and is applied using a self-contained spray system.

Harness has visual alert stitching

Pure Safety Group^™ has made available its Checkmate^® Xplorer industrial full-body harness for fall protection. Designed to be more comfortable than conventional harnesses during periods of suspension, the harness has visual alert stitching said to help a user understand the correct way to wear the harness. The Checkmate Xplorer harness also features a dorsal D-ring said to have a precise amount of vertical adjustment built in to keep the D-ring in place after multiple loadings. A large front ring allows for multiple attachments, and a lightweight aluminum quick-connect buckle reportedly helps ensure a safe final connection. The harness’s hardware is designed to support the harness’s functions, reducing wear on the webbing, allowing easy connections and providing pivot points for a greater range of motion. Disinfectant can be used against coronavirus

H.B. Fuller Construction Products Inc. has made available Foster^® 40-80 First Defense^® Disinfectant. The water-based ammonium chloride disinfectant reportedly has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to COVID-19 and can be used against the virus on hard, nonporous surfaces such as countertops, finished floors and tools. The noncorrosive disinfectant can be applied by spray or wipe and has a 10-minute wet contact time. Available in the U.S. and Canada, Foster 40-80 First Defense Disinfectant comes in a 5-gallon pail with a retractable pour spout in the lid. One gallon of disinfectant covers approximately 1,000 square feet, and the disinfectant reportedly has a shelf life of one year.
