Fall-arrest systems offer mobility
Honeywell has introduced its new Miller® Rigid Rail Fall Arrest Systems, which reportedly provide workers with exceptional mobility and fall protection when working at heights on or above vehicles or elevated machinery.
Featuring an open track design, three types of Miller Rigid Rail Fall Arrest Systems are available in various configurations and support center distances. The Inverted "L" System (single rigid rail) provides fall protection for working at heights on vehicles or elevated machinery. The "T" Dual Track System (dual rigid rail) delivers dual fall protection for working side-by-side on top of vehicles or elevated machinery. The "P" Series System (portable single rigid rail) is an economical solution for applications requiring temporary protection for working at heights.
Additional features include continuous lateral fall-arrest protection along the full length of the system and reduced fall clearance requirements that enable workers to work on applications low to the ground.

Panels help assess hail damage
Hail Signature Technologies has introduced residential and commercial panels that provide scientific proof regarding whether a roof has received sufficient hail impact energy to warrant a claim.
The commercial panels are mounted directly on a roof, offering quick and simple visual inspection. The color-coordinated residential panels are mounted directly on shingles three rows above the gutters, so visual inspection can be made from a ladder.
The amount of hail impact energy is assessed by measuring the depth of the dents on the panels with the provided depth gauge.

Shingle offers easy installation
IKO has made available Dynasty with ArmourZone, an architectural laminated asphalt roof shingle that offers an enlarged nailing area to make installation faster, easier and more accurate. A tear-resistant, reinforced woven band within the ArmourZone reportedly provides fastening strength over a greater surface area of the shingle, helping to resist pull-through.
Two nailing lines, which are 1 1/4 inches apart, guide installers to a wider nailing surface for correct nail placement.
The shingles are warranted to withstand high winds of up to 130 mph by using only four nails. Other shingle features include Fastlock modified bitumen sealant and Algae Block ceramic copper-coated granules for algae-resistance.
