DAP® has made available a line of volatile organic compound-compliant construction adhesives; each product is created to meet the demands of specific projects. An asphalt sealant also is featured with the line of adhesives.
The new line includes adhesives such as BEATS THE NAIL® All-Purpose Construction Adhesive VOC compliant, a latex-based adhesive with low odor; DAP 2000® Heavy-Duty Projects Construction Adhesive VOC compliant, a strong, weatherproof, solvent-based adhesive that can bond to a variety of substrates; and Gutter & Flashing Butyl-Flex® Adhesive VOC compliant, a butyl rubber-based solvent adhesive said to be durable, flexible and watertight.

Adhesive offers fast installation
Atlas Roofing Corp. has introduced Fastac roofing adhesive, a two-component, self-leveling, elastomeric polyurethane froth adhesive said to offer strength and efficient installation. Fastac can be used to bond insulation board to various substrates, as well as insulation board to other insulation board.
The adhesive is applied directly to a substrate in bead form, and then insulation board is placed into the adhesive and walked into place. A chemical cure occurs within 5 minutes to 10 minutes after application.

Fastening driver is lightweight
The IMPACTOR™ Fastening Driver Cordless Series has been made available by Bosch Power Tools and Accessories and offers 9.6-, 12- and 14.4-volt fastening drivers. The 4-pound, 6 1/2-inch-long drivers offer 950 inch-pounds, 1,050 inch-pounds and 1,150 inch-pounds of torque, respectively.

APAThe Engineered Wood Association has released its 2005 Engineered Wood Construction Guide, a reference manual for contractors who use engineered wood products in residential and commercial construction. The International Code Council has made available the 2003 I-Code Commentaries on CD-ROM, an efficient way to navigate the 2003 Commentaries in PDF format.
The commentaries demonstrate codes and explain when and why code requirements should be applied, providing illustrated examples. They feature complete code text, historical background and technical information and include a search option for text, figures and tables.

Eyewear offers custom fit
Uvex has introduced FitLogic™ safety eyewear that allows users to adjust at four different points to offer a custom fit. A process that produces fully assembled pieces capable of incremental adjustment was used to make the product.
The eyewear features a lightweight, adjustable, cushioned browbar and nosepiece that rotates 360 degrees and pivots for a precise fit. The temple tips are soft and have a sliding action for comfort, and the temple arms adjust up and down and click into place. Earmuffs mount on hardhats

Underlayment is lightweight
Berger Brothers Co. has released Pro-Master Roof Shield UDL Synthetic Roofing Underlayment, which is said to be lightweight at 28 pounds. The nonslip, 10-squares-per-roll underlayment is made from ultraviolet-stabilized material. At a 52-inch width, the product is printed with nail patterns and alignment guides.
