Loading device is versatile

Stellar Industries Inc. has expanded on the uses of loading devices for contractors by offering a device that not only loads and off-loads but also handles various equipment from flatbed bodies to fertilizer tanks to dump boxes.

A member of the X-Tra-Lift family, the Xchange 3 can dump loads of up to 8 feet long at an angle of up to 45 degrees. The system consists of a hydraulic single-pivot hooklift capable of handling 3,000 pounds. The Xchange 3 also offers a hooklift with stainless-steel pins and lubricated bushings.

Seamer tongs are strong

Midwest Tool & Cutlery Co. has introduced Midwest Snips® Seamer Tongs that are designed to bend and form metals. Made of hot drop-forged alloy steel, the tongs also grip and secure metal sections or panels. Two models are available, and both have a throat capacity of 1 1/8 inches, length of 9 1/2 inches and 3-inch-wide blades. One model has straight handles; the other has curved handles.

Roof pedestals provide drainage

Envirospec Inc. has introduced Pave-El® paver stone pedestals as new protective walkway surfaces for low-slope roof systems. The pedestals offer uniform spacing, as well as water drainage. The system is said to be easily installed, self-cleaning and maintenance-free, and is not affected by temperature, light or weather conditions.

Made of ultraviolet-stabilized, high-density polyurethane, the pedestals are available in four models, ranging from 4 1/2 square inches to 7 3/4 square inches, and 5/8 of an inch in height to 7/8 of an inch.

Updated manual now available

The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association Inc.'s Architectural Sheet Metal Manual has been made available in an updated computer-aided design (CAD) version. The CAD version offers 169 illustrations for design specifications, as well as a copy of the manual in PDF form. The CD-ROM also features a new historical restoration section, recommended practices for proper sheet-metal installation and design, and oil-canning commentary.

Roofing bracket is adjustable

Extreme Roof Jack Inc. has released its Extreme Roof Jack, an all-purpose roofing bracket a user can adjust from 18 degrees to 90 degrees in less than 20 seconds by turning a knob. The Extreme Roof Jack can be adjusted while in use to ensure a board is level and safe.

At 17 inches long and 4 inches wide, the bracket's maximum load capacity is 2 tons. Coated in anti-corrosion yellow paint, it is zinc-plated for corrosion prevention.

Gutter sealant is for small spaces

OSI Sealants Inc. has released its Pro-Series® Micro, a gutter sealant available in a small 4-ounce squeeze tube. The product is said to fit in the smallest seams and have efficient stretch and movement capabilities.

Featuring a QUAD polymer formula, it is said to adhere in hot and cold conditions and on wet and dry surfaces and can be mildew-resistant. Pro-Series Micro can be used to seal various applications, including flashings, lap joints, gutters and end caps.

Shingle is impact-resistant

The Landmark™ 40 IR laminated shingle from CertainTeed Corp. has been improved to comply with UL 2218, "Impact Resistance of Prepared Roof Covering Materials," meeting the highest test rating for impact resistance. Engineered with fiberglass scrim on the back surface, Landmark 40 IR also has a 1 1/2-inch nailing area.

In addition, the shingle weighs 260 pounds per square and is algae-resistant.

Skylights offer easy installation

GAF Materials Corp. has released HeavenScape™ Premium Skylights, said to offer quick and easy installation with no brackets, extra-wide flashing, bottom apron sealing strip and encapsulated weather stripping. HeavenScape Skylights sit deep in the roof, which can prevent moisture infiltration. The skylights are included in the GAF System Pledge™ and Golden Pledge™ warranties.
