Safety harness available in four sizes

Pure Safety Group has introduced its Guardian Fall Protection S1 safety harness. Weighing 2.6 pounds, the harness features water-repellent core webbing, dual lanyard keepers and durable rubber web keepers said to prevent loose straps from interfering with a user. The Guardian Fall Protection S1 safety harness also has a three-bar torso adjustment for proper fitting, a chest strap and multiple connection points. The harness is available in four sizes, has five points of adjustment to ensure a comfortable fit and reportedly meets Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.

Electric tug transports heavy loads

Nu-Star® has made available its Power Pusher,® an electric motorized tug designed to improve worker safety by transporting heavy loads. Featuring a 400-watt motor, the machine reportedly has a 50,000-pound push and pull capacity. A programmable control system with diagnostic features enables a user to adjust speed and acceleration based on each load and the environment. The Power Pusher's transaxle design is said to deliver stable operation over uneven surfaces, and its fingertip controls and compact size enhance maneuverability. Ergonomic handles with hand guards reportedly increase user comfort and safety.

Walkway system has integrated railing

Kee Safety® Inc. has introduced Kee Walk® with Guardrail, a rooftop walkway system with an integrated safety railing. Designed to provide an anti-slip walking surface on all roof system types, the system reportedly can be used on sloped roofs with pitches up to 35 degrees. Kee Walk with Guardrail uses Kee Klamp® fittings, installs without roof penetrations and can be set up as either a single or dual-sided handrail system. The system can be customized for layouts of new buildings or retrofitted onto existing structures. Kee Walk with Guardrail is said to be corrosion-resistant and is available with aluminum or nylon modules that feature anti-slip treads.

Underlayment has high-temperature rating

MFM Building Products has made available Premium HT Tile & Metal,™ a high-temperature, whole-roof underlayment. The self-adhering "self-stick" underlayment is made of a high-grade, reinforced polyester fabric laminated to an asphalt adhesive system and a fiberglass-reinforced core for durability. Premium HT Tile & Metal self-seals around roofing fasteners and its 3-inch selvedge edge reportedly ensures a secure, monolithic seal. The underlayment's surface fabric is said to provide strong traction and can withstand ultraviolet exposure for up to 180 days. With a high-temperature rating of 250 F, Premium HT Tile & Metal can withstand high heat caused by metal and tile roof systems. The underlayment also can be used underneath synthetic or asphalt shingles and cedar shakes.

EPDM membrane installs without seam tape

Firestone Building Products Co. LLC has added FullForce ™ EPDM to its line of Secure Bond™ products. FullForce EPDM is a fully coated, seam-to-seam, self-adhering EPDM membrane with factory-applied Secure Bond pressure-sensitive adhesive. The membrane reportedly can be installed faster than standard adhered EPDM in temperatures as cold as 20 F. FullForce EPDM does not require seam tape for installation and contains no volatile organic compounds, simplifying application on occupied buildings. FullForce EPDM is Firestone Building Products' exclusive self-adhering EPDM membrane and replaces RubberGard self-adhering EPDM membrane.

Mixer/drill has brushless motor

DEWALT® has made available its 60V MAX Mixer/Drill with E-Clutch® System designed for high-torque drilling and mixing a variety of construction materials, including fiber-reinforced concrete. Using a DCB606 FLEXVOLT® battery, the mixer/drill reportedly can mix up to nine buckets of concrete. The 60V MAX Mixer/Drill with E-Clutch System features a powerful brushless motor that allows the tool to maintain mixing speed in tough materials and eliminates brush changes. The mixer/drill is said to have a long runtime, and its E-Clutch System can sense tool motion and eliminate torque by stopping the motor when binding is detected. Additional features include a 1/2-inch keyed chuck that accepts hex or rounded mixing paddles, a three-position side handle, variable speed trigger, Bluetooth® Tag mount, chuck key holder, rear-handle mount and LED light to illuminate dark work spaces.
