RISE offers CSRP test dates
Roof Integrated Solar Energy (RISE) Inc., which evaluates and certifies solar energy installers for knowledge regarding photovoltaic (PV) roof construction and maintenance practices, is offering test dates for its Certified Solar Roofing Professional (CSRP) credential. Applications for Feb. 18 testing are due Nov. 15; the May 2011 testing application deadline is yet to be determined.
RISE was created by NRCA and the Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing as a means to promote the widespread use of rooftop solar energy.
The RISE CSRP certification is for professionals who plan and oversee the installation of PV systems on roofs; the certification program evaluates whether candidates have the underlying knowledge required for a successful roof-mounted PV system installation. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate basic knowledge about different PV system types and key components; benefits and risks applicable to building owners; PV systems' integration with electricity; installation guidelines; building codes; and post-installation considerations.
For more information about RISE, eligibility requirements and an application, visit www.riseprofessional.org or contact Jeanne Schehl, RISE CSRP program director, at (847) 493-7566 or jeaschehl@nrca.net.
