NRLRC to hold annual seminar

The National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC) will hold its 28th annual seminar, Roofing Issues: Decks to Dockets, Nov. 1-3 at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort in Tucson, Ariz.

The seminar will provide in-depth information about current legal, contractual, technical, insurance and safety issues. Attendees will learn ideas, strategies and new approaches for improving their companies' operations, managing risks and ensuring continued success.

During the seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's brightest experts while interacting with peers in a hands-on format. They also will be able to share ideas and best practices, find solutions to problems and make important business contacts.

NRCA offers Spanish-language guide

NRCA has made available 2nd Language Success' Spanish in a Pinch, a set of 18 laminated translation cards containing more than 1,400 roofing- and business-related words, terms and phrases to assist in communicating with Spanish-speaking workers.

Housed in a three-ring binder, these customized, trade-specific cards include terms for roofing, general labor, construction safety, accident reporting, subcontractor screening, builder relations, I-9 immigration compliance, employment, payroll, drug screening, performance reviews, disciplinary action and medical benefits.

Membership benefits

NRCA has partnered with retailers and other service providers to offer its members money-saving benefits. Following is a list of NRCA partner companies and programs:

  • Access One offers NRCA members local and long-distance telephone service rates up to 45 percent less than exchange carriers. Long-distance rates are as low as $0.039 per minute. Contractors who do not already have an American Express business card will receive $250 in NRCA credit—$350 if the contractor is GAF-certified—that can be used for any NRCA product, program or service, including NRCA membership, publications, educational conferences and more.   • Electronic Data Payment Systems (EDPS) offers NRCA members a bankcard-processing program and payment options for their customers. There is no enrollment fee or monthly minimum on debit-processing fees. In addition, if you offer credit card payment options to your customers, this program can offer you savings opportunities. You have access to toll-free customer support 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Optional processing services also are available, including check guarantee service, American Express and Discover/NOVUS.
