Join Project Recovery
In 2001, NRCA partnered with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to create Project Recovery, a program that helps roofing professionals become involved locally with the search for missing children through magnetic posters that can be placed on service vehicles.
NRCA staff works with NCMEC to identify children who have been reported missing from a participating company's area. NRCA then supplies that company with magnetic posters to place on the company's service vehicles. The posters include a photograph of a child at the time he or she was reported missing, biographical information, and contact information if he or she is seen. Many posters include age-progressed photographs to help people recognize a child as he or she may look now. If a child is found, a "FOUND" sticker will be sent to place over the poster to let the community know the program is successful.
Roofing professionals participating in Project Recovery are asked to reimburse NRCA for the cost of posters, which cost $40 each. Additionally, NRCA is seeking program sponsors to help absorb distribution, administration and promotional costs. There are three sponsorship categories: Primary sponsors make a one-time contribution of $1,000, receive 10 posters, and are included in press releases and other communications about Project Recovery; supporting sponsors contribute $500 and receive five posters; and sustaining sponsors contribute $100 and receive two posters. Contributions of lesser amounts to help support the program also are greatly appreciated.
To learn more about Project Recovery or to become a sponsor, visit www.nrca.net or contact Ashley St. John, NRCA's communications manager, at (800) 323-9545, ext. 7520 or astjohn@nrca.net.
