As you probably know, NRCA offers a wide variety of programs, publications and services to the roofing industry. In addition to providing critical technical and safety information, NRCA is an active advocate for the roofing industry in Washington, D.C., through its political action committee, ROOFPAC; provides educational opportunities every month; participates in building code hearings and standards organization meetings; organizes and supports charitable contributions throughout the U.S.; promotes and encourages professionalism of NRCA member contractors; and educates Chinese and Indian roofing professionals about developing roofing technology to help those countries raise their levels of roofing expertise.
The sheer breadth of NRCA's activities can seem overwhelming, which is why many Professional Roofing readers (NRCA members and nonmembers) often say they are unaware of some NRCA offerings. An easy way to stay connected to NRCA is to take advantage of its many communication options.
Through NRCA's website, www.nrca.net, you can subscribe to NRCA's biweekly E-News; follow NRCA on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn; watch NRCA's YouTube channel; and read NRCA's new blog, The Roof Scoop, which addresses several topics per week and presents them in a short, concise format.
In addition, all NRCA members automatically receive NRCA's monthly For Members Only newsletter, written by NRCA Executive Vice President Bill Good, as well as Professional Roofing (I encourage you to download the digital edition on your tablet, too).
The number of communication vehicles offered can seem equally overwhelming, and NRCA knows it is not possible for you to subscribe to them all. However, I urge you to choose one or two methods that will work best for you. For example, if you are active on social media, you will receive a great deal of NRCA news from NRCA's Facebook page and Twitter feed. If email works better for you, consider subscribing to NRCA's E-News. And if you prefer short synopses of industry news, The Roof Scoop offers new posts several times per week.
NRCA wants to provide you with the news and information you need in the way you would most like to receive it. By taking advantage of the many communication options NRCA offers, you will receive up-to-the minute NRCA and roofing industry news in the format best suited for you.
