What is your position within your company?
I am project manager/estimator for Redd Roofing Co., Ogden, Utah.

What is the most unusual roofing project you've performed?
For the past three years, I have been involved with a large development in Utah. We have installed multiple roof system types such as TPO, EPDM, metal and vegetative. It is a design-build project, and every building brings its own set of challenges.

Why did you become involved in the roofing industry?
Redd Roofing is my family's business. Construction as a whole always has interested me. There is a great sense of accomplishment in being involved with a project from start to finish.

If you could invite any three people to dinner (dead or alive), whom would you invite? Why?
Porter Rockwell, Phil Mickelson and my grandmother Redd—Rockwell because he was a law man in the Wild West period in Utah and a personal friend of Joseph Smith, the early Mormon prophet; Mickelson because I always have admired how he handles himself on and off the golf course; and my grandmother Redd because I never met her.

What is your favorite vacation?
Our family travels to Maui, Hawaii, every year—mostly, I follow the kids from the beach to the swimming pool to the hot tub, not in any particular order, all day long.

People would be surprised to know …
I own a tractor—the girls got the horses and I got the tractor. It is something I always have wanted and could spend hours on end riding it.

What was your first roofing experience?
When I was just out of high school, I was put on a crew as a laborer for a 3,000-square-foot fully adhered EPDM project over polyisocyanurate insulation. My job was to kick out polyisocyanurate and mechanically attach it.

What three condiments always are in your fridge?
Sriracha sauce, Heinz 57® Sauce and ketchup

What is your roofing industry involvement?
Our company is a member of NRCA and the Utah Roofing Contractors Association. I also serve on the board of directors for NRCA and the Associated Builders and Contractors Utah chapter.

What song are you listening to over and over?
Chris Ledoux's "Western Skies"

What is your favorite animal?
German Shorthaired Pointer

What is your fondest childhood memory?
Pheasant hunting with my dad and brother in Burley, Idaho—I would love to have those days back.
