What is your position within your company?
I am solar division manager for Douglass Colony Group Inc., Commerce City, Colo.
What is the most unusual roofing project of which you've been a part?
A solar installation on six F-16 fighter jet hangars at a U.S. Air Force base. The
jets were armed and ready at all times, so we had a cautious installation and emergency
procedures.
Why did you become involved in the roofing industry?
Douglass Colony Group is a family business my great-grandfather started in 1947.
What is your favorite movie?
"Top Gun"
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Maui, Hawaii
If you could meet any historical figure, whom would you meet? Why?
I would meet Ronald Reagan because it would be great to shake the hand of someone
who had such a positive effect on the U.S.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Turning on the solar arrays and seeing the production after all the time and effort
put into the installation
What is your fondest childhood memory?
Family holidays with LOTS of people
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Italy
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Disorganization
What are your favorite stress relievers?
Walks with my dogs and pedicures
If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Why?
The ability to fly because I hate traffic!
What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
Selling a product that is not a necessity to a building and not to mention pricey!
What items can you never leave the house without?
My iPhone and iPad
What is your roofing industry involvement?
I serve on Roof Integrated Solar Energy™ Inc.'s board of directors, trying
to get as many Certified Solar Roofing Professionals™ as possible so the solar
industry can properly work with the roofing industry.
