What is your position within your company?
I am president of The Quality Roofing Co., Kansas City, Mo.
What is the most unusual roofing project you've performed?
We installed an EPDM membrane in the attic of a 10-story office building in downtown Kansas City. It was over the
server room of a mutual fund company. I was told they did millions of dollars' worth of trades every minute.
Why did you become involved in the roofing industry?
My father had a 40-year career with Barrett Co., Peoria, Ill., as a plant manager and I started with them as a
laborer in the factory.
What was your first roofing experience?
Cleaning wet paper stock out of the sewers at the Barrett felt mill
What is your roofing industry involvement?
Our company is a member of NRCA and the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association. I'm also a past president and
director of the Associated Roofing Contractors of Greater Kansas City Inc.
What song do you find yourself listening to over and over?

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Back to Ireland; there's a lot more to see.

Junk emails

Going to the New Jersey shore with my parents and brothers
What's the most exciting or adventurous thing you've done?
A 10-day float trip through the Grand Canyon with several relatives—it was many years ago, but I still remember
the cold water.
If you had a time machine, would you go to the future or the past?
I love history, so I'd go back.

If you could meet any historical figure, whom would you meet? Why?
Sir Winston Churchill because he was the most important leader of World War II. He rallied and inspired his
countrymen to fight against the Nazis before the U.S. was involved.

My business partner and I have been competition barbecuers for 25 years; in 2011, we were the Kansas State Grand
Champs.
