Claude Gionet, owner of P.J. Currier Lumber Co. Inc., Amherst, N.H., is making a statement with his American flag roof system installations.

The roofs include IKO Cambridge™ Shingles in Riviera Red, Super White and National Blue. Each element of the flag requires special planning. Measurements must be extremely accurate—down to 1/16 of an inch—to ensure the shingle spacing is correct. The stripes and blue background are installed first, and each star is hand-cut, taking about three hours each to complete.

Gionet has completed three flag installations and currently is developing additional designs.
