For a sixth year, ATAS International Inc., Allentown, Pa., sponsored the Greater Lehigh Valley Let’s Build Construction Camp for Girls. A collaboration between the Construction Specifications Institute Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter and the Associated Builders and Contractors Eastern PA Chapter, the camp provides an opportunity to expose middle and high school students to potential careers in architecture, construction and manufacturing.

During the free weeklong event, ATAS International staff demonstrated how to install standing-seam metal roof panels and metal shingles. Campers learned the differences between steel and aluminum and gained hands-on experience cutting metal with snips and driving fasteners to secure panels and trim.

This year, a new camp opened in northeast Ohio, where ATAS International staff also attended to demonstrate metal roofing installation to campers.
