Close-up

The police department of Killeen, Texas, recently consolidated its operations from four locations to one: a new 80,000-square-foot headquarters building situated on a 15-acre site that once was a cattle ranch. The facility, which includes training areas, community rooms, and office and administrative space, more than doubles the police department's previous space. Designed to complement its rural setting, the building is constructed of limestone and textured concrete and features a standing-seam metal roof system. BRI Roofing & Sheet Metal LLC, Haslet, Texas, installed the roof system, which includes 37,500 square feet of Petersen Aluminum 22-gauge silver SNAP-CLAD metal panels. In addition, about 40,500 square feet of silver and zinc SNAP-CLAD flush panels and flat panels were installed vertically in wall applications.
