Located 35 miles north of Houston in The Woodlands is the Huntsman Advanced Technology Center. The four-building campus serves as Huntsman Corp.'s leading research and development facility for its Americas region. Many improvements were planned in celebration of the facility's 10-year anniversary in 2015, including a new 70,000-square-foot roof system on Building 1.

To obtain the highest level of certification from its insurer, FM Global, the company chose a new TPO membrane roof system. Peak Roofing Inc., Houston, removed the existing PVC membrane roof system and installed Firestone ISO 95+™ GL Insulation, Firestone ISOGARD™ HD Cover Board and Firestone UltraPly™ 60-mil-thick TPO membrane. Walkway pads and high-visibility tape also were placed to protect the roof and help delineate walkways.

Peak Roofing completed its work in 90 days, and the new roof system achieved a combined R-value of 21, exceeding the local and state requirements in place at that time.
