Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal fundraises

Kalkreuth Roofing Charities, Johns Manville and ABC Supply present a donation to the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center.

Kalkreuth Roofing Charities, a charity organization developed by Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal, Wheeling, W.Va., held golf events to raise money for the Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center in Wheeling.

Kalkreuth Roofing Charities held its annual Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Championship at Oglebay Resort’s Speidel Golf Club in Wheeling July 27 and 28. More than 240 golfers attended the premier tournament event. In addition to the weekend tournament, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal hosted its 5th Annual Kalkreuth Vendor Invitational July 26 to thank the nearly 50 vendor partners who sponsored the Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Championship. The invitational took place at the same golf club and was preceded by a welcome dinner July 25.

Proceeds from the events contribute to the company’s annual donation to the Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center. The center supports children and adults with disabilities and their families. This year, Kalkreuth Roofing Charities donated $31,720 to the organization; the company has donated more than $120,000 to Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center during the past eight years.

Tecta® America acquires two companies

Tecta America, Rosemont, Ill., has acquired ABC Roofing, a commercial roofing company in Clackamas, Ore., and Chris Andersen Roofing and Erecting Co. Inc., a Hopelawn, N.J.-based commercial roofing company.

ABC Roofing is a family-run business that has served customers in Arizona, Oregon and Washington since 1951. The company now will operate as ABC Roofing, A Tecta America Company LLC. Chris Andersen Roofing and Erecting was established in 1906. The company now will operate as Chris Andersen Roofing, A Tecta America Company.

ABC Supply opens branches

ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, Wis., has opened two branches in Stockton, Calif., and Boise, Idaho.

The Stockton branch is ABC Supply’s 44th location in California, and the Boise branch is the company’s third location in Idaho. Both branches offer steep- and low-slope roofing materials, accessories and other exterior building products to local contractors.

SPRI appoints technical director

Ober

SPRI has announced its board of directors appointed Randall E. Ober to replace outgoing Technical Director Mike Ennis, who is retiring.

Ober has more than 35 years of commercial roofing experience and expertise regarding the development of new roof systems, acquisition of code approvals and product promotion. He served the industry in several senior positions at Carlisle SynTec Systems, Carlisle, Pa., before opening his own consulting company, Mr. HeatWeld Roof Consulting Services LLC, Reading, Pa., in 2016. Ober also is a past recipient of the ASTM Award of Merit and Distinguished Leadership Award.

During the coming months, Ennis will work closely with Ober to ensure a smooth transition. Ennis has served as SPRI’s technical director since 2007.

RoofConnect has launched its updated website, www.roofconnect.com. The website features a modern design and improved functionality allowing visitors to easily navigate the website and locate information about RoofConnect’s services.

Atlas® Roofing Corp. has named Stanley Bastek national sales director for the shingles & underlayments division and Tracy Cook director of marketing for the shingles & underlayments division and roof & wall insulation division.

Daltile, Dallas, has announced its Perennial Porcelain Roofing Tile was recognized as one of This Old House magazine’s Top 20 Building Materials of the Year.
