DuPont® Safety & Construction wins award
DuPont Safety & Construction, Wilmington, Del., has received a Partners of Choice Award from David Weekley Homes, a Houston-based homebuilder, for a seventh year. Out of about 200 participating companies, DuPont Tyvek™ was one of 18 to receive an A rating in quality and service.
The awards are based on David Weekley Homes' supplier feedback platform that includes its National Trading Partners Survey, a quarterly review of about 200 suppliers. A rigorous assessment based on a builder's unique supplier rating system is conducted by about 1,000 David Weekley Homes team members from every level in the organization. David Weekley Homes rates trading partners for quality and service and responds to specific questions about the challenges and preferences of managing business-to-business relationships.
"The supplier feedback platform recognizes those companies that demonstrate, through the management of thousands of transactions over the year, that they are world class in delivering quality and service to our company," says Bill Justus, David Weekley Homes' vice president of supply chain services.
ATAS International celebrates employee grads
ATAS International Inc., Allentown, Pa., has announced Eric Bus, operations manager for ATAS International, and Allison Guzley, human resources manager for ATAS International, graduated from the Manufacturers Resource Center's Manufacturing Leadership Institute (MLI) certificate program in June. The graduating class included more than 20 local manufacturing professionals.
The certificate program educates industry professionals about strategic leadership to strengthen their companies' competitiveness, drive growth and create sustainable business models, according to Jack E. Pfunder, president and CEO of the Manufacturers Resource Center.
"Over the course of five months, the curriculum consists of 11 intense days of 12 program topics on growth and innovation led by eight industry experts with real world experience and exceptional teaching skills," he explains.
"MLI is the equivalent to a general economics class but with an intense manufacturing and leadership focus," Guzley says. "It is beneficial for all levels of management in the manufacturing sector because you can apply what it teaches you to your own personal development and the development of your employees, no matter what their skill levels are."
