Upstate Roofing & Painting announces new owner

Upstate Roofing & Painting, Rochester, N.Y., announced Bob Morgan assumed ownership of the company and the position of CEO Jan. 1. Company ownership was passed to Morgan by Dave Pastore, Upstate Roofing & Painting's longtime leader. Morgan has held a leadership position at Upstate Roofing & Painting since 2005 in preparation for assuming ownership of the company. Pastore will remain involved with the company for the next three years to assist with the transition.

PIMA announces new chairman

The Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association (PIMA) announced Helene Pierce, vice president of technical services, codes and industry relations for GAF, Parsippany, N.J., assumed chairmanship of the association Jan. 1. Pierce succeeds Jim Whitton, vice president of sales and marketing for Hunter Panels LLC, Portland, Maine, PIMA's chairman for the past two years.

Pierce is a 34-year roofing industry veteran and has been active in several groups, including the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association; ASTM International; Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association; and SPRI. She has authored and presented many papers for the roofing industry and frequently contributes to industry publications.

Carlisle SynTec Systems has released its RoofEd e-book for Apple and Android tablet devices. The e-book contains resources designed to inform users about various commercial roof system options and can be used to help building owners select a sustainable and durable roof system appropriate for their buildings. The RoofEd e-book is available for free from iTunes and Google Play.

Sheffield Metals has updated its website, www.sheffieldmetals.com. The updated site features a reactive interface design intended to benefit PC and mobile users; information and documentation for architects, contractors and homeowners; and detailed product information.

The Metal Construction Association has published a Best Practices Guide for Roof Seaming designed to familiarize workers with general information, basic operation, safety and maintenance procedures for standard roof seaming processes. An overview of different types of seaming for metal roof systems, a glossary of terms, troubleshooting suggestions, training guidelines and safety recommendations also are included in the guide. The guide is available for free at www.metalconstruction.org/index.php/education/tech_resources.

Atlas Roofing Corp. has named Stanley Bastek director of marketing and sales development for its shingles and underlayment division.

Grace Construction Products has named Adam Grose president, specialty construction chemicals of GCP Applied Technologies Inc.

Nations Roof LLC has named Jake Hyatt president of its company.

Ramon Franklin LLC has named Denver Green president and CEO of its company.
