BRS enters distributor agreement

Building Research Systems (BRS), Edmond, Okla., has entered into a full-service distributor agreement with New Tech Machinery, Denver, to develop roof panels and guttering. The new distributorship will allow BRS to provide a single source for machine sales and equipment trade-ins and service all types of field roll formers.

MFM receives patent approval

MFM Building Products Corp., Coshocton, Ohio, has received a U.S. patent approval (Patent No. 8,603,629) for its PowerBond™ adhesive system. The adhesive technology allows select MFM waterproofing membranes to be applied in temperatures as low as 25 F while remaining stable at elevated temperatures. The technology has been incorporated into the company's Peel & Seal,® WindowWrap™ and underlayment products.

GAF helps rebuild charity building

GAF, Wayne, N.J., has partnered with ABC Television Network's "Good Morning America" to assist with rebuilding the Memory Makers' Building at Give Kids The World Village, a nonprofit organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. "Good Morning America" revealed the remodeled building Jan. 24. GAF Master Elite™ Contractors Collis Roofing Inc., Longwood, Fla., and Roof Top Services, Orlando, Fla., donated their time and labor, and ABC Supply Co. Inc.'s Orlando branch donated product delivery.

JobFLEX™ has introduced the JobFLEX app to provide contractors with on-the-spot quote generation and streamlined scheduling, paperwork and project coordination. The app is compatible with all Android 4.0 devices and includes a web portal for customer management, scheduling, digital file storage and data export features.

Texas group announces award winners

The North Texas Roofing Contractors Association (NTRCA) announced the winners of its annual Golden Hammer Awards during the 14th Annual NTRCA Awards Banquet held Feb. 15 in Grapevine, Texas. The awards recognize outstanding roofing projects completed in 2013. Entries are judged for logistical challenges, quality workmanship, uniqueness, difficulty, time constraints, innovative solutions and safety challenges.

The 2013 Golden Hammer Award winners for community service projects are Outback Roofing LLC, Dallas; Super Roofman LLC, Fort Worth; and NRCA member Toucan Roofing LLC, Mansfield. The 2013 Golden Hammer Award winners for commercial contractor work are NRCA member Castro Roofing of Texas LP, Dallas; Paragon Roofing Inc., Dallas; and NRCA member Supreme Roofing Systems Inc., Dallas. The 2013 Golden Hammer Award winners for residential contractor work are Bert Roofing Inc., Dallas; Buzz Roofing and Construction, Fort Worth; and NRCA member Tice Enterprises Ltd., Dallas.

Design award winners announced

The Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing has announced the winners of its 2013 RoofPointCM Excellence in Design Awards. RoofPoint is a voluntary, consensus-based green rating system. The awards recognize design excellence that best exemplifies the requirements of specific RoofPoint credits and demonstrates leadership in advancing the awareness and application of sustainable roofing.

Tilsen Roofing joins the Alliance

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress has announced Tilsen Roofing Co. Inc., Madison, Wis., has become an Alliance member. Tilsen Roofing's membership commitment entitles it to participate in project task forces established to guide the Alliance's agenda and attend semiannual meetings.
