TAMKO® Building Products donates roof system

TAMKO Building Products donated a roof system on U.S. Marine Cpl. Chris Miller’s house.

TAMKO Building Products LLC, Joplin, Mo., has donated a new roof system to U.S. Marine Cpl. Chris Miller. The roof system was installed by Absolute Assurance Restorations, Mansfield, Ohio, and the project was coordinated by Atlas Restoration LLC, Sunnyvale, Texas.

Miller dedicates his time to helping other veterans transition out of the military by boosting their spirits and supporting wounded service members in their efforts to regain mobility. A wounded veteran himself, Miller travels the U.S. as an ambassador for the Travis Mills Foundation, a nonprofit organization that assists veterans who have been injured during active duty. Miller inspires veterans by sharing his own experiences, including surviving a stabbing and a 50-foot cliff fall that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Miller also is an ambassador for Dogs For Our Brave, a foundation that trains and provides service dogs at no cost to veterans who need them. Between the two organizations, Miller has helped raise nearly $3 million.

In addition to organizing TAMKO Building Products’ roof donation, Atlas Restoration gathered other donors and key participants, including NRCA member ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, Wis., which helped coordinate material delivery. Miller’s house now features TAMKO Building Products’ Heritage® Aged Wood shingles.

“TAMKO Building Products recognizes the sacrifices veterans and their families make for our country, so providing shingles for this project was a great honor and one small way to show our tremendous appreciation for everything Chris has done while serving in the military, and everything he has done for other veterans since returning to civilian life,” says David Humphreys, TAMKO Building Products’ chairman and CEO.
