Supreme Roofing Systems rebrands itself
Supreme Roofing Systems, Dallas, has undergone a rebranding campaign, which includes a new tagline, as well as a redesigned website and marketing materials.
Supreme Roofing Systems' rebranding campaign was created to better distinguish the company and reflect its 25-year commitment to quality and integrity. The company's new tagline, "Roofing Done Right," will be incorporated into all Supreme Roofing Systems' communications, marketing and social media efforts.

Polyglass® U.S.A. receives awards
Polyglass U.S.A. Inc., Deerfield Beach, Fla., has received two 2011 SUPERSTAR Awards from the Construction Marketing Association's (CMA's) annual STAR™ Awards for excellence in marketing.
The first award, Collateral—Sales and Dealer Kit, was given to Polyglass U.S.A. for its Self-Adhered Membrane Color Sample Brochure, which features nine colors offered in its self-adhering cap sheets.
The second award, Trade Shows/Events—Exhibit Design, was given to Polyglass U.S.A. for its trade show booth at the 2011 International Roofing Expo,® held Feb. 16-18, 2011, in Las Vegas.
The CMA STAR Awards recognize excellence in 16 marketing categories and 78 subcategories, including advertising, branding, website design, social media, brochures, catalogs, new product launches, packaging, photography, promotions, publicity, merchandising, trade shows, videos, employee communications and integrated marketing campaigns.
IKO representative receives award
IKO, Birmingham, Ala., has announced Clay Harbin, IKO's sales representative for Alabama, was recognized as Associate of the Year by the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders (GBAHB).
The award was given to Harbin in recognition of his distinguished service to GBAHB during 2011. He received the award from GBAHB President Bud Canter and Hall of Fame Member Cindy Davis at the association's Officer Installation and Awards Luncheon held Dec. 8, 2011.
Atlas Roofing® opens facility
Atlas Roofing Corp., Atlanta, has opened a new polyisocyanurate manufacturing facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. The facility answers the region's growing demand for polyisocyanurate roof and wall insulation products.
The facility will incorporate state-of-the-art laminating and blowing agent technologies to produce a polyisocyanurate board with versatility and high long-term thermal resistance values. The facility joins Atlas Roofing's existing Toronto location and will enable daily service to western Canada.

California group names Hall of Fame inductee
The Associated Roofing Contractors of the Bay Area Counties (ARCBAC) has announced Bill Callahan, the association's executive director, has been inducted into ARCBAC's Hall of Fame. Callahan has been with the association for more than 21 years.
Chuck Peterson, a Hall of Fame member and president of Malott & Peterson Roofing Co. Inc., Berkeley, Calif., announced the induction, crediting Callahan's leadership and dedication for "making the association what it is today." Peterson also expressed the membership's gratitude for Callahan's efforts.
The induction was announced Dec. 3, 2011, at the association's 17th Annual Christmas Ball in San Francisco.

ASTM International has revamped the online version of its flagship magazine, Standardization News. The magazine's online content is available for free at www.astm.org/standardization-news and offers more frequently updated ASTM International news.
The new Standardization News online homepage allows visitors to see the variety of industry areas in which ASTM International's standards provide guidance and to quickly find news and information according to their interest area.

The Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing has announced the recipients of its 2011 RoofPoint™ Excellence in Design Awards. More than 40 projects were submitted for consideration.
The 2011 RoofPoint Excellence in Design Awards recognize design excellence in 10 categories. Award recipients best exemplify the intent of specific RoofPoint credits.
DRI Cos., Irvine, Calif., won in the Excellence in Energy Management category for its work on High Desert Government Center, Hesperia, Calif.; D.C. Taylor Co., Concord, Calif., won in the Excellence in Materials Management category for its work on Meridian Vineyards' roof restoration, Paso Robles, Calif.; Sika Sarnafil, Canton, Mass., and J.P. Patti Co., a Tecta America company, Saddle Brook, N.J., won in the Excellence in Water Management category for their work on the USPS Morgan Processing and Distribution Center, New York; Firestone Building Products Co. RCI calls for abstracts
RCI Inc.'s Building Envelope Committee is seeking abstracts for RCI's 2012 Symposium on Building Envelope Technology. Potential presenters should submit abstracts by April 30. More information is available at www.rci-online.org/symposium.html or by calling (800) 828-1902.
Additionally, RCI has announced its symposium event dates. The symposium will be held Oct. 22-23 in Phoenix at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and will feature 12 educational sessions presented by leading building envelope designers.
Symposium speakers will offer experience-based insights for specification of durable building exteriors. Most programs will focus on repair and sustainable design methods for strengthening and improving existing exterior envelopes. More than 300 building envelope professionals are expected to attend.

The Alliance sets up expo booth
The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress will have a booth, No. 438, set up at the 2012 International Roofing Expo® being held Feb. 22-24 in Orlando, Fla., in conjunction with NRCA's 125th Annual Convention.
During the past year, the Alliance has taken steps to make sure its members and other roofing professionals are aware of Alliance activities and efforts, including launching a new Alliance website at www.roofingindustryalliance.net; e-mailing monthly updates to members and others who request information; forming the Alliance Strategic Leadership Committee; and developing a new mission statement.
Alliance leadership and staff will be available at the booth to answer questions, provide updates on Alliance initiatives and share information about what the Alliance has to offer personally and professionally.
NRLRC offers webinar
The National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC) will hold its webinar, Liability for Code Compliance: Who is Responsible?, Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 12 p.m. CST. The 75-minute webinar will discuss building code provisions to help roofing contractors determine their liability for code compliance.
Mark Graham, NRCA's associate executive director of technical services, will discuss the new building codes that become effective this year and steps contractors need to take to comply with them, as well as the most recent changes to the International Code Council's updated model codes.
Stephen Phillips, a partner in Atlanta-based law firm Hendrick, Phillips, Salzman & Flatt, and Brian McCormick, an associate with Hendrick, Phillips, Salzman & Flatt, will discuss potential liability for code violations in situations where contractors contract directly with building owners when no design professionals have been retained, as well as when the project involves an owner-retained architect or engineer.
