TRUFAST gains new partner

TRUFAST Corp., Bryan, Ohio, has announced an equity partnership with Altenloh, Brinck & Co., Ennepetal, Germany.

According to Brian Roth, TRUFAST's president and chief executive officer, the partnership will enable TRUFAST new product, market and investment opportunities.

W.P. Hickman has added two independent sales representatives in Florida: Bernie Abrami and John Sheffield.

Chicago association bestows awards

During its Annual Awards Dinner Dec. 1, 2005, the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) recognized several roofing professionals.

Steve Schwab, territory sales manager for Johns Manville Roofing Systems, Denver, was given the Award of Excellence for participation and leadership in CRCA, and Paul Shah, president of Anderson & Shah Roofing Inc., Joliet, Ill., was presented with the Clyde Scott Award for his accomplishments as a CRCA leader. In addition, Industrial Cork Co., Elmhurst, Ill., was named Supplier of the Year for its commitment to create and maintain satisfied customers.

NRCA member receives honorary degree

The University of Sydney in Australia recently bestowed its Doctor of Engineering honorary degree to Bill Mansell, managing director of NRCA member Chadwick Technology Pty. Ltd., Forestville, Australia.

The doctorate is considered of higher rank than a Ph.D.

ARMA names new officers

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has named its new officers. Terms run from November 2005-November 2007.

Bob Tafaro, chief operating officer of GAF Materials Corp., Wayne, N.J., was named president. Sheree Bargabos, president of roofing and asphalt for Owens Corning, Toledo, Ohio, was named vice president, and John Donaldson, president of roofing products for CertainTeed Corp., Valley Forge, Pa., was named secretary-treasurer.
