Dura-Loc earns energy rating
Courtland, Ontario, Canada-based Dura-Loc Roofing Systems Ltd. now offers granular-coated ENERGY STAR®-qualified metal roof systems in more colors. Autumn gold and driftwood colors reportedly decrease a roof's surface temperature by up to 100 F, keeping a building naturally cool. Because of this, it is said the ENERGY STAR-rated roof systems can reduce energy consumption and electricity bills by decreasing the use of air conditioning.
To qualify for the label, a roofing product must meet U.S. Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency criteria for reflectivity and reliability. The ENERGY STAR label promotes household and commercial building products that save energy and money.
