This is shaping up to be a busy summer for the roofing industry. First, by the time you read this, we will have concluded another successful National Roofing Week. And this year, we have much to celebrate as the industry begins to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. By most accounts, contractors are as busy as ever (though facing the added challenge of supply chain shortages).
June 1 marked the beginning of NRCA’s fiscal year, and in July, NRCA will hold its annual Midyear Meetings in-person in Chicago, the first large-scale in-person meetings since the pandemic began. NRCA’s Executive Committee, board of directors and committee members will gather to advance the association’s agenda for the upcoming year. In addition to addressing important roofing industry issues, ROOFPAC will host an important fundraising event that will double as an opportunity for much-needed socializing.
And the entire roofing industry is invited to NRCA’s 134th Annual Convention and the 2021 International Roofing Expo,® which will be held in Las Vegas Aug. 10-12.
To help roof system installers earn their NRCA Procertification® credentials, NRCA will host free hands-on performance exams during the IRE. To participate, a roofing worker must have an approved NRCA Procertification® Roof System Installer application on file with NRCA, as well as pass the online low- or steep-slope knowledge exam. All information, materials and exams are available in English and Spanish. For more information about the event and to learn more about other NRCA offerings during the IRE, see “Let’s get together.” It is a great feeling to know the industry is starting to gather again. All of us at NRCA hope to see you soon.
